Roof Garden, Brunei Gallery, SOAS

Today I made another journey to the past by visiting a place where I used to work. I started my career in HE administration at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in 1994 and worked there for five years, before moving to St George's Hospital Medical School. They were very happy years and I continue to be amazed at how easily students of all cultures, races and creeds were, and are, able to co-exist in the same small institution, even at times of great tension and unrest in the outside world.

This is the roof garden of the Brunei Gallery - a hidden treasure in the middle of Bloomsbury where one can find a peaceful, quiet space.
