A dog at sunset

Sunset comes early to Dunoon's West Bay simply because of the hills behind the town - the very same hill that PNE hope to line with huge wind turbines if they get their way. On a still, quiet, mild evening - is 6.30pm evening? - there were few people about, but one man was trying to persuade his dog not to go into the sea. "You're just out the bath!" we heard him say.

The vegetation on the beach is just that, by the way, rather than the piles of seaweed that you might expect. For some reason this and other pebbly beaches in the area are covered in marram grass and what looks like large daisies this year. Anyone got any idea why?
