We Plough the Fields and Scatter

It is a soft and misty day here in north Norfolk. I went out for a bike ride along quiet lanes and back roads making random decisions at each crossroads. I have lived almost all my life in East Anglia, but for a few years of metropolitan life when I was younger, and I have lived in this place for twenty years. As I cycled through the villages I got the feeling of being an old tribesman savouring the beauty of his terrain.
More than once I passed a field traversed by tractors tilling the soil, followed by a mewling gaggle of seagulls vying for worms.

There's something very beautiful about this time of year
