An Explosion Of Red

It was a beautiful sunny day today and quite pleasantly warmish at around 25 degrees, very bearable.

The sun shone all day except later in the afternoon when a thick smoke haze drifted in. The Land Management people are doing some back burning to reduce the fuel loads in the outer metro fringe areas.

Because of all the rain through winter this year there is an enormous amount of undergrowth which will dry out once summer arrives and be very flammable!

The smoke haze turned a deep orange at sunset and looked quite amazing so of course I took a lot of photos. But this bottlebrush blossom won my heart in the end, it's like a mini explosion of colour! :0)
