Beauty of the Lakekand Fells

Early morning fog lifts to give a bright start to the day, we park just outside Glenridding and walk from Glencoyne wood pass Seldom Seen climbing steadily with stunning views of Ullswater, until we reach the open moors and continue on up to Sheffield Pike.

Once on top of Sheffield Pike the view was breathtaking for 360 degrees, the light kept changing as the cloud came and went. We decided to take the challenging route down Heron Pike ( this is not a path for anyone with a touch of vertigo !) to Glenridding Dodd and then down its left side though Glencoyne Wood again but this path was another challenge as quite a number of trees had fallen blocking the path and again it was quite a steep decent.

Although it was only about 4 miles it was a challenging and rewarding walk !
