Carrot cake, carrot cake have ye any nuts?

Very quick blip. About 3 years ago a weed began to grow at the side of the house, it turned out to be a tree. It will have to go at some point but for now, as it is still quite small it can stay. Last year it provided the nuts on the left which have remained untouched, this year it has produced the nuts to the right plus there are loads left in the tree. I thought it shows an interesting contrast. Maybe there is a metaphor for the year hidden in there somewhere?
