Pointing the way

This morning's run took me across fields white and crisp with frost, and as the sun rose the sky became a rich blue.

I love to follow the signs indicating public footpaths, bridleways and restricted byways, and this signpost suggested four options, with the icons representing banned modes of transport crossed out.

Luckily the little stick man revealed that I had free access to the yellow, blue, purple and red routes.

I especially like the recurring motif of an arrowhead in this picture: not only the arrows on the notice but also the tops of the posts.
