Grisedale Tarn

Feeling much better today, so up and out for the walk we wanted to do yesterday. We decided not to park in Patterdale as they were resurfacing the road so we parked a little way out and walked in to start the walk from Patterdale up Black Crag to Birks, where we found ourselves in the mist that was clinging to the tops of the fells today, on up to The Cape and St Sunday Crag and still the mist was with us.

No views from the top for us today so we continue on and down as we reach the path down to Grisedale Tarn we emerge out of the mist and at last get a glorious view of the mountains. A scramble down the very steep path down to Grisedale Tarn for lunch before the long return to Patterdale following the valley all the way down Grisedale with the sun on our backs.

It would have been rude to walk by the White Lion Pub with out quenching our thirst on the way back to the car :)

10.5 miles walked
