The proximity of the harbour front to the downtown causes visiting cruise ships to dwarf buildings on the adjacent streets. It is as if a row of apartment buildings suddenly appeared overnight.

The 'Ruby Princess' was in port today. Dozens of tourists spilled out into the city and wandered up and down the steep streets, clutching their guide maps and cameras.
