Precision Carrots....

Vegetable Growing:

Halfway between Perth and Margaret River is the area of Myalup. It definitely is the broad acre vege patch of the South West of WA - cauliflowers, potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage and bok choi.

Indeed you can smell the onions in the paddocks as you drive along the south west highway.

They are lucky to have good quality ground water which they draw to the surface with large bores.

So today's blip is paddocks of carrots pre mechanical harvest.

Checked out our potato patch when we got to Redgate and dug up one of the plants to see how they were travelling - mmm - about the size of salad potatoes so need to wait a while!

I don't know how the market gardeners do it!!
