Singing For Freedom

Here's the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds where the "Singing Revolution" took place.

Estonia has an annual song festival with choirs from around the world participating. During the soviet era they were forced to sing pro-USSR songs and traditional Estonian songs were banned. Slowly they started to sneak the old songs back in...

The 1991 song festival gave rise to the "Singing Revolution" where night after night all the choirs sang Estonian songs until they gained their independence back from the Soviet Union.

I really enjoyed Tallinn.
