Welcome to the fall

Don't like autumn. The leaves are already falling and for the next two months it will be a daily battle with three oak trees, beeches and the trees next door with my rake, broom and garden bags to clear the leaves. Don't get me wrong the rich hues of autumn when the leaves change colour are a real joy. But the way the leaves are already cascading into the garden and on the drive they will have all fallen before they change to the magnificent colours and can be appreciated.
Then, the garden begins to looks a mess as the best of the summer flowers go over, the evenings get dark too soon, and chillier nights bring in the spiders!
For weeks it seems the newspapers, TV, even the internet have been warning us of an invasion of ever bigger spiders, and they certainly seem to have arrived with a vengeance.
Get rid of them outside, but it seems they still have plenty of brutish looking mates seeking warmth inside the house. You can even get a phone 'app to identify what type of spider you might find!
Nah, I've decided - don't like autumn!
