Saturday Shapes and Shadows. Paris in a Day.

It was a whirlwind trip for my friend, her daughter and I from Lille to Paris and back but well worth it. We kick started with an espresso for the long walk from Paris Nord to the Notre Dame, ate crepes with Nutella (them) and chestnut purée (me). Walked through the Tuileries and stopped at a cafe in these lovely gardens. Strolled up Champs Élysées to Arc de Triomphe with a baguette for lunch somewhere in the middle. Caught the train to Eiffel Tower but couldn't be bothered with the long queues to go up it so we lay in the sunshine on the grass with a granita, admiring the impressive structure. Back on the train to Sacré Coeur which looked stunning against the blackening sky. The heavens opened sending everyone scurrying for shelter - we found ours at a lovely traditional restaurant for dinner until we decided to get the train back.

What better subject for shapes and shadows than the Eiffel Tower?
