Wheatear

I think this might be a youngster. It spent some time running along the footpath in front of us as we returned to our car and then hopped onto a bale of straw. We walked to Runswick Bay and back to Staithes along cliffs and with the sea at our side. A beautiful blue day. A good day for wildlife too as well as the highlight of our Wheatear we also saw a charm and a half of Goldfinches (probably around 50 birds), swallows and a few house martins that have not yet left for warmer climes. A small family of yellow hammers and quite a few butterflies, including a Speckled Wood.
