Letter opener

So, who gets letters these days? Years ago I would have a full pigeon-hole in the staff communications area - now everything comes by email or e-attachments. I guess it means that the waste basket is less full, but it also means that I get a lot of superfluous correspondence! This carved letter opener came as a present from a former student. It originates in the Salish tribal community of British Columbia, Canada, and I keep it by my computer for the stray letter that comes my way.....
