Birdwatching

When I arrive at Oare Marshes on a weekday and there are this many people there I wonder what we are watching. Of course I'm not alone in this; someone approached me and asked what we were all watching and I had to admit that I had no idea. There were lots of birds about but they were the usual suspects (as far as I could see). I go because it's quiet and peaceful rather than to see a rare visitor - I'm happy to see one if I can but I'd not go somewhere specifically to see a Bonaparte's Gull or a Moldovan Flamingo. And I know that this might not seem like a lot of people if you go to a football match or a game of rugby or travel on the tube but I promise you, for Oare Marshes this is hopping!
