Trip to the Alps

Delighted to find out today that I was wrong about how long it would take to travel to the Swiss Alps. Fifteen minutes flat...that's all. Who knew.

A mixed-bag day...inched forward on a work project, cruised along on a personal project, had no time for fancy photographs but enjoyed some warmer temps. By warmer I only mean a few degrees above freezing rather than below.

Even though the air temperature is still cold, the sun is getting very strong, assaulting the icicles, drifts, piles and even the Alps, which won't be fully melted till late Spring. The city plows pile any new snowfall in the most remote corners of the shopping mall parking lots where it buries mature trees and loom till mid May, slowly giving up its bounty of garbage, aluminum cans, cigarette butts and other lovely things.

We've had a nice few days of melt but hold on! March, our snowiest month is almost here. Just shoot me now.

At least we don't live in Michigan although I wonder about the authenticity of these that came in one of those irritating many-times-forwarded emails. How do you tell someone who you like very much to stop sending you crap?
