The Building's Pate

In the UPenn dental school's clinic, one waits on an old stairwell landing. I was completing some requirements of a (hopeful) job in Antarctica, and I noticed that the scaffolding had been removed since my last visit.

I was puzzled because I thought the scaffolds would be expensive to use, but worth the costs in restoring the old ceiling. Perhaps work was scheduled but postponed till next summer. I see a sizable hole, and the surfaces are not freshly painted --not even clean.

Oh well, I still like the space. I like the dental school too. After I inspected the building's pate, my own was inspected in the adjacent room.
