Night Driving!

A delay to the earlier special stages led to the last stage being run after sunset.

Night stages used to be a common feature of rallies long ago, but in modern times of safety and media deadlines it rarely happens.

But when it does, it's great. I had nothing to prepare my composition on, except a few campfires made by the spectators watching the action in this Swedish forest. It's not a great shot, but it shows it as it was, without a nasty flash gun to spoil the effect!

You could hear the rally cars approaching, with their huge bright spotlights panning around the forest projecting shadows of trees all around. Then in a flash of engine noise, the red trail lights zip away and were back alone in a dark forest again, awaiting the next car!
