Bowood 2014 #33: Tractor Ted's

Petal's due date had been August 28th but she had not given birth until the morning of 4th September. Seven piglets were born, all healthy and proving popular with staff and visitors alike. I hadn't planned to visit Bowood that day, but having heard the news I called in on my way home in the afternoon.

Petal is a two-year old British Lopp and this was her second litter. The piglets are crossed with a Gloucester Old Spots, and one of them is brown, showing the Old Spots descendancy from wild boar.
