Old friends

Today I continued my mission to meet up with friends I haven't seen for ages.

I last saw Viv when we left school in June 1973. She went off to Birmingham University to study medicine and I went to Cardiff to become a teacher. Now we are both at the tail end of our careers and we have time to meet. Viv now lives in Newcastle but has family near our old school and I haven't moved very far at all. We had a lovely morning at a newish coffee shop/delicatessen which was absolutely packed inside and out and the car park was overflowing. Why aren't all these people at work? It's like a whole new world to me!
