Harvest display

We popped into our church today and saw that the Harvest Display was already done ready for Sunday. The wrapping is still on the bread at the moment!

We went on to the Anglican Church for the funeral of the wife of a member of our church. They were a close and lovely couple, but she liked Anglican services and he likes Baptist! So they agreed to attend different churches. I didn't know her terribly well, but she was always bright and friendly and had been a very talented singer, starring in a number of musicals when she was younger, and refusing a professional career as she wanted to spend more time with her children. It was amazing as a meditation was read that had a line to the effect "may the sunshine dry your tears" and as the vicar went up to her coffin straight after to say the commendation, the sun broke through the clouds for the only time the whole service and shone on the heads of her grandchildren, who turned and looked at each other! Then it disappeared again and we haven't seen any more sun at all this afternoon. A special moment.
