A lot of grapes about

We do like shopping in markets when we are here. And this one in Apt on a Saturday morning is the real thing. It’s extensive, flowing through the whole of the town, its alleyways and squares. It’s a real mixture of food and other stuff. And it attracts a huge number of people, mainly local.

I love how the proper markets like this one are such social events. People meet and greet, sit and have coffee, eye up the menus for lunch. And the buying of food is taken so seriously, people determined to get exactly what they want, testing the ripeness of the melons, trying the pâté before buying.

And of course in this part of France, it is usually sunny, as it certainly was today.

This guy did not appear to be exactly happy in his work, but he was selling an awful lot of grapes. Delicious they are too.
