Alistair Bruce's Birthday!..

Meet my friend Alistair. One of the kindest, most committed and friendly people I know.

Today, 26 September, is Alistair's birthday. Our present to him is hidden in his black bag. He likes a glass of red wine, so I hope he approves of the Rioja we gave him.

I have never in all the years I've known him, heard Alistair moan about his lot in life. He is much more likely to moan about the fate of the poor or the difficulties young people face in today's world. That's just him: always thinking about others.

He is one of the few, if not only person I know, who truly deserves to be described as having an indomitable spirit.
