Cake

Lots of cooking today- mincemeat and a Christmas cake, and the Christmas pudding is ready to be steamed tomorrow. And pork cheeks with orange, bay and garlic for tea.
One of the things about having a Rayburn is that it keeps all the cooking smells inside it, out of the kitchen. Often I'm grateful for that, but not at this time of year. Still, the cake cooling manages to send cinnamon, nutmeg and other spice scents around the house.
