Tree Sparrow

Captured on our early morning walk from Pelican Lodge in the very north of Bulgaria. This Eurasian Tree Sparrow is a different species from the tree sparrows found in North American. It wasn't very close but the image still came out fairly decently.

Afterwards we drove west some 90 kilometers to Ruse (RU-she) and crossed the Danube into Romania and on to the Bucharest airport. The rest of our group flew back to London, and we were picked up by a private driver, with whom we have arranged to tour around the country for the next few days (it's surprisingly inexpensive). Our four-star hotel in Bucharest is high quality, and we had an excellent dinner in its restaurant.

Backblipped early on 9/29, finally catching up after two days of no internet in Bulgaria.
