On the up...

Another gentle September day, with a welcome shower of rain in the afternoon which brought out all the snails. It was the first day for a long time when I didn't either need to do fieldwork or write a report with an imminent deadline. Instead much of the day was spent cleaning and tidying - after two spells away and such a lot of fieldwork, the house had descended into chaos. But there was still time to take Rosie out for a gentle walk and meet with a friend to discuss the activity we're planning for the 60th Anniversary celebration of Castor Hanglands NNR.

Rosie continues to improve. Her appetite has certainly increased and she ate three good meals today. She's sleeping a lot less and even barked when our visitor arrived, and then wagged her tail. Although walking is still tiring, she managed to go further today than over the weekend. It's hard to believe that a week ago I thought she wouldn't still be with us now. She really is a tough little dog!
