After much chasing about, to'ing and fro'ing, rearranged plans, strained and pointed discussions, my work-horse lens is back from repair. Finally delivered to work by UPS (although they did deliver it to the warehouse despite my specific request not to do so).

3 weeks of a friend missed.

Complete with new red ring - you canon users know how important that is (in fact, I think the whole barrel has been replaced).

Just a point of observation - if you ever want to talk to the people to whom you have entrusted your belongings, don't think about using UPS. You can never ever speak to anyone, or, at least, that is my experience. Most unhelpful!
