Anemones for garden border life

The flower is simple yet provides a welcoming joy to any garden border, and I am determined to eventually get a display like this providing a focal point at home next year.
This profusion of the perennial Japanese anemones has been in full flow throughout August, through September and now almost into October and although I can claim no more than admiration, my wife Jill is already planning for next year and has sneaked roots from this display in her sister’s garden into pots and is eager to nurture them for next year.
A display like this will clearly take time, but in the meantime we are reading up all the advice we can gather.
There are many different varieties, and I was astounded to discover the name is something of a misnomer . . . it appears the plants had their origins in eastern China rather than Japan although they were a favourite in Japanese gardens over centuries. The horticulturists suggest they were introduced into Europe in 1844.
It will be our first experiment with them, but if we can achieve anything like this growth, we will be delighted.
