A family birthday

Due to some very bad planning on our part, we were celebrating Sam's mum's big birthday the day after arriving home from our holiday.

On just a couple of hours sleep, Sam made an Onion and Gruyère tart to take round to hers for a pot luck lunch. Ruth, Fraser and Huxley had been in town visiting while we were away - again, bad planning on our part - so it meant that Deb got to celebrate her milestone birthday by just being a granny. Her favourite thing in the world at the moment.
The cousins are just at the right age to enjoy each others company at the moment. Huxley has just turned 1 year and Dex is almost 5 months. They were really interested in each other and there was quite a lot of laughter. (although the trip caught up with Dexter who got pretty furious at points due to the lack of sleep).

As a birthday gift to Deb, we arranged for Niall of Darroch Photography to come round and get some family photos. We love Niall. He did our wedding pictures. He also happens to be married to one of my bestest friends. It is also his 40th birthday today. What a star.

Good food, good chat and surprisingly good weather.
