In Sweden we call it a "kick"

I went put into the small village here today. It was about -25 and the wind was howling, the snow coming down horizontally, but everyone was out to do their Saturday shopping.

Since the roads are covered in snow it is convenient to just skate along. Traditionally people use a type of sled with long metal sliders on which they can put their groceries and then they propel themselves along by standing on one slider and pushing with the other leg.

The Swedish name is a spark .. which means kick.
