Clothes Optional!

If you want a superb day out, then visit Abbey House Gardens in Malmesbury. It is a 5 acre garden, steeped in 1300 years of history and now privately owned by the Pollard family.

It is one of the most interesting and quirky gardens that we've ever seen and every few steps revealed something completely different. There are sculptures, roses by the thousand, waterfalls, ponds and the most magnificent house.

Turner visited the garden many times and painted the back of the house from the garden.

The strange title for my blip refers to the fact that on a number of days throughout the warmer months, clothes are optional in the garden! Luckily today wasn't one of those days. The sculpture of the two males leaves nothing to the imagination but I was careful to photograph it from a discreet angle to avoid any embarrassment. I must admit, I did feel rather conspicuous taking photos of it anyway.

Here is a link if you are interested in reading all about the gardens.
