People on a Bridge

Day Of

I took a million and a half pictures at Klepa's wedding. I picked this one to blip because it is symbolic of things that went down.

Firstly, it was taken after the ceremony, the dance, and the toasts, meaning everybody is super relaxed and happy.
Secondly, it features Sarah, my elvish kiss-kiss cousin, helping out. Sarah represents The Village, a concept familiar to any emigrant. It goes like this: when you emigrate from one country to another you lose the comfort of the immediate family to be there for you day-to-day. You make another family, your Village, often with people who share your emigrant experiences. Sarah is of our Village; her mom and our dad grew up door-to-door in Poland before they emigrated a number of years later and have been each other's Village for ages in this melting pot of ours that never properly melted.

It was a wonderful day, and Klep and Mike had exactly the wedding they wanted: outdoor, small, and without any drama whatsoever.

May you live long and prosper!
