Park Painter

The parks in Taichung, Taiwan are great. It feels like every block has a new park. Coming from the concrete city of Shanghai, it seems like this smaller city is full of grass and green life.

The park culture is wonderful too. Families out in the fresh air with their kids, painters, and couples on the row boats. A group of older people were playing wiser ball. Wiser ball? You ask. I asked the same question. They invited us to play, so we gave it a try. We divided into two teams and took turns throwing grapefruit-sized balls at the other team's balls until one team knocks the other team out. That's as much as I could gain through our Chinglish conversation and playing a couple of rounds. Either way, the people were really friendly, and it was fun to see how exited they were to teach us their game.
