Who says summer is over?

The calendar may say what it likes. My lavender plants have decided that it's summer again and have produced lots of new flowers alongside the seed heads which are ripe and already shedding and spreading their seeds.

I like the structure of the flowers, shown more clearly at the seed-head stage.

Today has been warm, sunny and 23C!
