The Ferrocarril de Sóller.

In service for over a century, the train had been running a daily service between Palma and Sóller, winding along a narrow gauge track some 27 kilometers through the rugged and mountainous interior of Mallorca, passing some of the most breathtaking scenery on the island.

And if that isn't enough, when you reach Sóller railway station, one discovers that the terminus is also an art gallery - featuring paintings and ceramics by Joan Miró & Pablo Picasso.

In all, a wonderful experience you'd never find in the stories of the Reverend Awdry, but one that will still feel familiar to his readers.
