Stunning Sculptures!

The Lamp of Sacrifice, Edinburgh 2004 is an installation of sculptures made up of all 286 religious and spiritual buildings that were listed in the 2004 Edinburgh Yellow Pages directory under 'places of worship'. The mammoth task took Nathan Coley and his assistant four months. Coley has stripped all religious insignia from the buildings and reconstructed them to scale in brown cardboard.

Seeing all the buildings was a bit like Gulliver in the land of Lilliput! If you are near the Goma in Glasgow the exhibition is well worth a visit.
