The Open Door

At the Quay Arts Centre in Newport on the Isle of Wight today, with my friend Sue.

Sue is an Elder of the Isle of Wight Quaker Meeting. They meet in the Quay Arts Centre, a beautiful building in the middle of Newport with a tidal river running next to it. This week they've been putting on an exhibition there titled 'Quakerism Explained and Experienced', as part of the events taking place nationally during Quaker Week.

This evening there will be a talk by two young Quakers about how they experience their Quaker faith in their lives and work. I've come along to support Sue and also pay her an overdue visit and see her new flat.

As the poster outside so well puts it, 'There are no strangers here, just Friends that you have not met'.
