The Bombed Out Church

Two more stops from the cathedral takes us to St. Luke's, at the top of Bold Street. It lost its roof and most of its windows to a bomb in the war, but the rest of the building is in fine shape. The steps are a popular meeting place, and the gardens host an impressive monument to The Famine. The building itself is increasingly used as an arts venue, and posters currently advertise Yoga and Tai Chi. Best on a fine night.

It's Sunday and so the 82's only run every 30 minutes. Yet this is our busiest day. It's Mo's birthday and the family from Manchester are over. So I must confess that I went in the car.
