fresh start

For quite a while now I've been keeping my supermarket spending to the bare minimum, and using local businesses whenever I can. Use them or lose them, plus the profit stays local instead of disappearing off down the M6.

I needed a handful of items today which left me no choice, but instead of the usual suspects - Tesco or Sainsbury's - I tried out Lidl. It's still a family owned business, it pays its taxes here and in Germany and - most importantly - it hasn't tried to bully its Scottish customers into voting a certain way.

I was perfectly happy with the experience, and will be back. I'll probably try Aldi next week.
