Out and About

Deal Castle

Today we went to a 60th birthday party in Deal, way out on the East Kent coast and took the opportunity to explore while we were out there. This is Deal Castle, built on the order of King Henry VIII and one of the finest Tudor artillery castles in England. it is among the earliest and most elaborate of a chain of coastal forts along this stretch of the Kent coast. It is a very attractive Tudor rose shape.

It stayed dry for 2.5 hours of the 3 hours that we were out and about but then the heavens opened and I turned up at the party looking like a drowned rat.

Then we raced back to Uckfield in East Sussex to attend a 50th birthday party with 70s theme dancing and quizzes.

A busy Saturday
