Possibly my favourite cocktail. 2 parts gin, 1/2 cointreau, 1/2 lemon juice and if you wish egg white too. I've had a version that adds a touch of absinthe too which is very nice.

Invented around 1929 in Harry's bar in Paris, it's a very English drink and one for the verandas and clubs across the empire. Long gone of course, but if you want to test if your bartender really knows his stuff then a great one to ask for.
