Russian Dolls in Moscow

This is a picture of Russian Dolls in гум in Moscow. The shop is very famous as a department store and is located right outside of the Kremlin and the Red Square.

The art of Russian Dolls or матрешка (matreshka) date back to the 1890s. The outside always depicts a woman but inside can be of either gender. They now have become a symbol of Russia and adorn mantle pieces around the world.

Stephen Fry stated he didn't like Russian Dolls because they are full of themselves, which makes me giggle :)

Moscow, despite the sensitive situation with Russia currently, has been lots of fun. I also visited the British Ambassadors house which was very lavish..
