Tea and Triumph

What is effectively "day 3" of the Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run began at midnight in the depths of Wales. Whilst there are many highlights in the 48hrs of continuous motoring on this event, the drive through the middle of Wales in the early hours of Sunday is also one of the most memorable. Fabulous twisting roads, blind crests and they were pretty much for us and no one else!

In brief the day looked roughly like this:
-12am, somewhere in North Wales
- a time that does't usually exist on a Sunday, Gordano Services, M5
- 7.30am, Lands End, a top notch cooked breakfast, more photos
- 10am, Bude, a lovely welcome at the Castle, tea and biscuits
- 12.30pm, Badgers Holt, Dartmoor, ice creams
- 3.30pm, Pimperne near Blandford Forum, tea and cakes!
- 5.30pm, Triumph TR Register Didcot, more tea
- 7pm, Enfield, the end!

What a day, a full day at that. Our cars have run pretty well, no major mechanical problems, a few worries now and then but not too much spanner work involved thankfully. The event is a fantatstic testament to these cars and the enthusiasm of their owners. Most of the cars are at least 40 years old, many are older. They are not museum pieces, the majority are completely usable motor cars - nothing proves that more than 48 hours on the go.

A great many thanks to our good friends who are happy enough to let us take part of the driving duties - here is Annie at the wheel!!
