From the side of Stone Arthur

After a dreadfully wet night and morning we had to change all our walking plans, and even when we did set out we had to change our route twice due to flooded fields and inaccessible bridges! But as the forecast winds never arrived and the sun came out we ended up going higher and did a great route along the side of Helm Crag, up to the top of Tongue Gill and then Stone Arthur before descending back down to Grasmere with glorious rays above the village and lake. We got pretty muddy in parts but it was well worth it.
I took some lovely shots of Grasmere from above, but just liked the simple colours of this picture and the patterns of the walls.
