A showering of conkers

There's a beautiful big horse chestnut tree in the village which has had a lot of conkers on this year. The wind has been quite strong this afternoon and when I walked there, a number of branches had blown off with a large number of conkers scattered around. Treasure for children (if they still play conkers of course).

Today we had a very interesting talk at U3A, about (mostly) unknown people who did remarkable / brave acts from The Great War to WW2.

I'm out at a music session tonight, meeting friends and joining in with the music which I always enjoy.
