Beam or Ray of Light?

According to Differencebetween.com, the difference between Beam and Ray is:

• A beam is a thin projection of particles or waves. A ray is a hypothetical stream of light.
• A beam has a finite width, and it can be observed physically. A ray is a concept, which cannot be observed physically, and the ray has a zero width.
• Rays are only discussed under light, but beams are discussed in both waves and particles.
• Wave properties such as wavelength, amplitude, and phase are omitted when a ray is discussed. Any property of the waves or particles can be discussed in a beam.

So now you know!

We had very heavy downpours today and luckily I've managed to avoid getting a good drenching. It was touch and go this evening when taking the dogs out but I my luck held out and apart from muddy paws, we got off lightly.

Opticians this morning for a eye health check. No prescription change thank goodness but I've had to abandon the Glasses Off exercises, as I've been told that they will not enable me to ditch the reading glasses.

Mckenzie had his second visit to the nursery and this time I had to leave him for 3o minutes. I expected to go back to a screaming toddler.....instead I found a happy little boy who didn't want to leave! He managed to find an enormous muddy puddle in the garden, which he stamped in and covered himself in mud. He did look very comical, so the teacher took his photo and they're using it as the picture for his coat peg next week.
