Blood Moon Over Washington, DC

This is the Blood Moon just before the total eclipse this morning. For those of you that have been following me for a long time, it killed me that I couldn't get a clearer image. I can get some pretty mean shots of a normal moon, but the camera just didn't like the dark orange, the high ISO, and hand held shot at 1/15 of a second.

Had I remembered to bring a tripod, I'm sure I would have been able to do a long exposure and get better results.

I did take a picture of the moon around 4 AM while it was still full and bright. You can see that here...
