Make a Wish...

LPH Day 3 saw us head for the Aira Force waterfall in Gowbarrow Fell. The National Trust owned estate a popular location, which made for some interesting challenges for 8 photographers complete with tripods.

A fallen tree trunk in the glen up to the falls has been made the subject of a old tradition where passers-by knock coins into the trunk using stones, in the hope of good fortune. This is probably a bit more likely than the "Bank of Cumbria" tale told by a English host to his German visitors (with tongue firmly in cheek I might add!)

It was then onto Ullswater for a "comfort break" and quick photoshoot round Glenridding Steamer Pier, before heading up to Brotherswater (more lakeside shots), then over the Kirkstone Pass (yep - we stopped there as well) before heading back to LPH for dinner.

Each of us had a great set of shots, with not too many duplicates, to show in this evening's critique session - so a good day.
