HOLLAND HOUSE, NORTH RONALDSAY

For the second day running we went to the bird trapping and ringing at Holland House. We were there when a Goldcrest and a female Blackcap were ringed, and today a Wheatear.

Later in the day there was a message that a rarity was in the Observatory grounds so we hot-footed it back, literally in my case, and made it in time. An Eyebrowed Thrush had been found ...... a Lifer for us and most of the people present, so a lot of birders were very happy.

Off back to Orkney mainland on the last flight of the day, tired but content.
